FAQ

Why are you making these changes to the list of industries and professions?

We are acting on the surveys we conduct regularly among job-seekers and HR officers. This year we approached hundreds of companies and users to help us change the names. So these changes are based on the current requirements of our clients and users. They deserve a big thanks for all their suggestions.

How often do you make changes to the lists?

This year’s update of professions and industries is the largest in four years. However, we are constantly adding professions that job-seekers and HR officers request.

How many industries and professions are affected by the change? How can I find out what they are?

Overall, we are adding 131 new professions and removing of 155. A further 97 professions and 17 industries are being renamed. Our new lists have 39 industries and 434 professions. The scale of the change varies. Sometimes, there have only been cosmetic tweaks; in other cases we have replaced old categories with completely new ones. You can test how the classification has changed online here.

How will I know whether the changes have affected the active vacancies I am advertising?

We are sending a comprehensive message to all users who have a vacancy that is affected by the change. If you need any further information, feel free to contact your LMC consultant, or call our customer service line at +420 224 810 053, 055. They will tell you whether or not the changes have affected your ads. If your vacancies have been affected, they will e-mail you a detailed list of the changes.

I have active vacancies advertised online, do I have to do anything?

We will make all the changes for you. You do not have to do anything yourself. Vacancies previously included in the search criteria for categories that have been changed will automatically be transferred to the new industries and professions. Other information about the vacancy will remain the same and has not been affected by the changes (e.g. vacancy title, ID, job-seeker statistics, and incoming responses).

What happens if there has been a change to my vacancy’s industry or profession, or if the profession has been changed completely?

Vacancies have been re-classified under the nearest related profession. We thought long and hard about which new professions should be introduced to replace existing categories. If we were unable to categorize a particular vacancy, it is simply placed in the relevant industry, but not aligned with a profession. This way job-seekers will have no problem finding it.

How will this effect the type of job-seekers who respond to my vacancy?

We’ve prepared everything so that, when we switch to the new system, searches will be even more suited to the needs of candidates. So we expect a rise in the quality of replies! If you do find you are getting fewer candidates, check the new classification of your vacancy – you can look for a more appropriate industry or category in your corporate account whenever you want.

What about the CV database and the agents used to search it?

database. This means agents will continue their searches as they transfer to the new system of professions. For the handful of professions which have been reassigned to a whole industry, it might be a good idea to edit the agent so it doesn’t find too many CVs. You should check here whether this applies to any of your vacancies.

I entered an industry for my vacancy that I can’t find on Jobs.cz / Prace.cz, how is that possible? How should I look up the vacancy?

As the posting environment for vacancies in LMC G2 is shared for Jobs.cz, Prace.cz and Topjobs.sk, some industries may differ compared to the actual job board you use. You can use our interactive page to find out where to look for a particular vacancy on the various job boards.

How do you decide which suggestions to use? I proposed a profession which hasn’t appeared in the new range.

First and foremost, demand is the determining factor for individual professions and industries. So we single out those which have been suggested by both camps of users, i.e. job-seekers and HR officers. Then we consider whether the category is suitable for the focus of the board on which it is to appear in the search process.
